The Agricultural Resource Land (ARL) issue will come before the county council for a final vote on Tuesday April 18th at 3:00pm. The Community Development Committee with a vote of 3-2, forwarded the ‘no action’ amendment #5 with a do pass recommendation for the full council. This amendment would leave ARL as is today. This includes the mapping error that would leave over 10,000 acres open for dedesignation. This would leave us with only 11,000acres of ARL total. Not to mention it throws out the $250,000 ‘Fresh Look’ study and 2+ years of public comment and participation.
Councilmember Young’s ‘Fresh Look’ amendment provides a solid compromise that most stakeholders can agree with. The proof is in the recent public testimony in favor of this amendment. Please consider supporting this compromise my submitting your name on this petition: https://actionsprout.io/4848FA
If you are able to attend the council meeting and testify, it will be held on Tuesday April 18th at 3:00pm on the 10th floor council chambers of the city-county building in Tacoma.
